2008 VIDEO: Marco Rubio Pushed For ‘Cap and Trade’ As Florida State House Speaker

2008 VIDEO: Marco Rubio Pushed For ‘Cap and Trade’ As Florida State House Speaker

by MATTHEW BOYLE at Breitbart.com | 13 Jan 2016

As the Speaker of the Florida state House of Representatives, now U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) was aggressively pushing for Florida to adapt to what he viewed as an inevitable “federal cap and trade program.”

In a politically damning video, Rubio backs cap and trade and argues that Florida—his state—should get in line to comply with the federal government rather than fight back.
“Florida should do two things,” Rubio said in 2008 on Florida television, in video discovered by Breitbart News.
First, Florida should position itself for what I believe is inevitable and that is a federal cap and trade program. Florida should do everything it can to be an early complier so it can access early compliance funds and so that it can help influence what that cap and trade looks like at the federal level. So I’m in favor of giving the Department of Environmental Protection a mandate that they go out and design a cap and trade or a carbon tax program and bring it back to the legislature for ratification some time in the next two years.
Cap and trade is an environmental system that hardcore liberals including former Vice President Al Gore support. A federal cap and trade program would be centered around a carbon tax.
“It will be difficult for sure but we can back away from the fiscal cliff and the climate cliff at the same time,” Gore said in 2012. “One way is with a carbon tax.”
Support for cap and trade is basically about as politically toxic a position as a Republican can take when it comes to the party’s voters, and ranks up there among GOP base voters as about as unacceptable a position as support for amnesty for illegal aliens, government-run healthcare, restrictions against the Second Amendment or support for open borders style international trade policies. Kerry slams ‘disgraceful’ climate denial

By Ben Geman - 06/19/12

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) on Tuesday said there’s a “calculated campaign of disinformation” on climate change that has stalled action on the issue and endangered the country.

“We are living through a story of disgraceful denial, back-pedaling and delay that has brought us perilously close to a climate change catastrophe,” Kerry said.

JOHN KERRY: GLOBAL WARMING SKEPTICS 'DISGRACEFUL'

by TONY LEE 20 Jun 2012breitbartLogo

In 2010, Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) tried to pass sweeping cap and trade legislation that dealt with climate change and failed. Now, Kerry’s throwing a fit.

On Tuesday, Kerry, according to The Hill, said there is a “calculated campaign of disinformation” on climate change and made a “a strong economic case for tackling climate change and boosting green energy” and argued for a “transformative moment in our politics.”

“We are living through a story of disgraceful denial, back-pedaling and delay that has brought us perilously close to a climate change catastrophe,” Kerry said, in comments picked up by The Hill.

INDOCTRINATING ONCE-FREE HUMANS ON EARTH DAY

Mon, 04/23/2012 - 12:57am — AmericanPatriot

It was not coincidental that the first Earth Day was on the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Lenin.  There are no real coincidences when it comes to Socialism.

The Left was looking for a way to continue its attack on Capitalism if the Vietnam War were to end.  Forty-two years ago, some of the Earth Day supporters made their wild assertions,

“I’m scared,” Paul Ehrlich wrote in the 1970 Earth Day issue of Look. “I have a 14-year-old daughter whom I love very much. I know a lot of young people, and their world is being destroyed.

“My world is being destroyed. I’m 37 and I’d kind of like to live to be 67 in a reasonably pleasant world, and not die in some kind of holocaust in the next decade.”

Lord willing and the creek doesn’t rise, Ehrlich will turn 78 [80 in 2012] next month.

“We have about five more years at the outside to do something,” ecologist Kenneth Watt said at Swarthmore College in 1970.

Well, we must have done something right. We’re still here.

Maybe it was the leisure suits that saved us. That makes about as much sense as anything else.

“We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation,” wrote Washington University biologist Barry Commoner for a 1970 Earth Day issue of “Environment,” a scientific journal.

He did not put an end date to his prediction. But Ehrlich did.

Know your White House Czars #tcot

by Jim Colter
It is one thing to constantly focus on the messengers as they attempt to deliver their stream of psychological abuse, but quite another to go after more serious sources of the attacks upon our society.
But remember those responsible for pulling the stings will be found here.  A link to CFR's website. Up to now, we have only been dealing with the tentacles.  Time we move on to the controllers? ...closer to the heart of the beast.
Jim is a retired Navy Captain who does consulting for foreign companies trying to market in the US.  He created this. The link above is most informative, but that's not all...
Now you can scroll down to see pictures and brief descriptions of some 30-odd Czars that work within Barack's Executive Branch.    All, without Congressional approval.

DICED is UN’s Environmental Constitution for the World

- Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh Wednesday, March 21, 2012

I am sure there are many Americans who have no idea nor care what “The Draft International Covenant on Environment and Development” (DICED) is. They should. Some call the Draft Covenant “Agenda 21 on steroids” while others see it as the “Environmental Constitution of global governance.”cfp-banner-because

The first version of the Covenant was presented to the United Nations in 1995 on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. It was hoped that it would become a negotiating document for a global treaty on environmental conservation and sustainabledevelopment.

The fourth version of the Covenant, issued on September 22, 2010, was written to control all development tied to the environment, “the highest form of law for all human activity.’

Local groups join forces to present programs
to target the threat of “Agenda 21”

(The Treasure Coast, FL) – Several locally affiliated conservative action groups announce a one-day program of distinguished speakers and events focusing the spotlight on the continuing encroachment of rights in the U.S. by groups that promote the United Nations Convention to establish uniform regulations to manage “the Earth's resources” and its population.

These “central planners” are hostile to private property rights - the legal mainstay of our free-market system. Their denial of your right to keep the fruits of your own labor is a back-door attack on our republican form of government as well as to American sovereignty itself.” - Leigh Lamson

OBAMA'S ALL-OUT WAR ON AMERICA

By Dr. Michael S. Coffman Ph. D.

March 8, 2011
NewsWithViews.com

Even as Mideast oil supplies are increasingly imperiled by civil unrest, President Obama is systematically blocking every effort to develop domestic supplies of oil. If the turmoil in the Mideast escalates, it could unnecessarily mean $5 or more a gallon gas and the collapse of the American economy.

Based on solely on his actions, it would seem President Obama hates America and most Americans. After all, a robust economy is dependent on a cheap supply of energy. Yet, the Obama administration has thrown roadblock after roadblock in the way of developing domestic coal, oil and natural gas supplies that would assure a stable, cheap supply of energy for America.

Perhaps this shouldn’t be a surprise. After all, Obama warned that his cap and trade plans would “bankrupt” the coal industry and necessarily cause energy prices to “skyrocket” during the 2008 campaign. But, the electorate didn’t pay any attention because he promised hope and change.

THIS IS A STICK-UP - GIVE ME YOUR PROPERTY

THIS IS A STICK-UP, GIVE ME YOUR PROPERTY

HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IN MIAMI DADE COUNTY

Sustainable development defined by property owners who have lost their land:

Property owners in the United States who have come face to face with "sustainable development" would define it simply as, "This is a stick-up, give me your property!"

Hundreds of thousands of ranchers, farmers, loggers, foresters, miners, fishermen, builders, developers, and other property owners are losing the right to use their property because of juggernaut environmental-government regulations; local, state, federal or international - or all of these combined.

These regulations include: the Endangered Species Act, Wetland Regulations, and laws governing use of air, water, land, and sea. There are also countless international UN treaties controlling and regulating the use of private property.

Property owners are finding out - because of an endangered species being discovered on their land, or that their land iss being declared a wetland - they are no longer able to use it, develop it, build on it, or even water it. They can hang on to it and pay the property taxes, or sell it at rock-bottom prices, because land that cannot be used has little economic value. Of course, the only people willing to buy the land are the Nature Conservancy or other environmental agencies, which in turn sell the land to the federal government. Often property owners not only lose their property but are put in jail and pay enormous fines for the violation of some obscure environmental regulation or law.

UN: Capitalism, schmapitalism – it’s time for a revolution!

Let everyone know how U.N. Secretary General is calling for revolution to reform capitalism and establish “Sustainable Development.”

Monday, Jan 31, 2011 at 3:03 PM EST

Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, whose recent comments on capitalism and climate change have a strong anti-capitalism and anti-democracy undertone. Glenn put Ki-Moon’s recent comments from the World Economic Forum into context.

With Egypt on the verge of collapse, Glenn feels that there is a strong anti-Western sentiment sweeping different parts of the world. First, he tackled comments from the Ayatollah in Iran.

“All of these protests in Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan and Yemen are inspired by Iran’s Islamic revolution, and these countries are de facto rocked by the aftershock of the Iranian revolution, the ultra conservative cleric added.  [The Ayatollah] says, in the Middle East soon there will be Islamic rulership and a democracy based on religion.  He is saying here also that it’s the end of an era of the Western-backed dictators.  And that is true,” Glenn said.

NOAA's Catch Shares Fisheries Debacle

By Mike Johnson

Nov. 23, 2010at-logo

Barrack Obama came to office with an agenda to fundamentally change America.  An element of his agenda is a plan, known as catch shares, to restructure the nation's fishing industry.  The author of his plan is Dr. Jane Lubchenco, the environmentalist rock star and former vice chairperson of the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).  When it comes to the oceans, the protection of fish, and the punishment of the evil fishermen, Dr. Lubchenco is as extreme as Obama's former green jobs czar, Van Jones.

Obama, with no managerial experience himself, didn't simply make Dr. Lubchenco one of his numerous czars -- he anointed her as the head of NOAA despite her own complementary lack of managerial experience.  Effectively, Obama has given the EDF control of the $4-billion, 13,000-person government agency that oversees the national fisheries.

EPA Moving Unilaterally To Limit Greenhouse Gases

by THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

December 24, 2010

Stymied in Congress, the Obama administration is moving unilaterally to clamp down on power plant and oil refinery greenhouse emissions, announcing plans for developing new standards over the next year.

In a statement posted on the agency's website late Thursday, Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson said the aim was to better cope with pollution contributing to climate change.

"We are following through on our commitment to proceed in a measured and careful way to reduce GHG pollution that threatens the health and welfare of Americans," Jackson said in a statement. She said emissions from power plants and oil refineries constitute about 40 percent of the greenhouse gas pollution in this country.

The jobs O hates

By BEN LIEBERMAN

For all his talk of job creation, President Obama has targeted many occupations for extinction. Using un elected bureaucrats to implement a host of job-killing measures, his administration is generating piles of pink slips:

Oil: Even before the BP spill, Obama's Interior Department had cracked down on domestic drilling. In 2009, regulators allowed less than $1 billion in new oil and natural gas leases on federally controlled areas -- both onshore and offshore -- compared to $10 billion under President George W. Bush the year before.

Then, in response to the Gulf spill in April, Obama slowed down things even further, with a moratorium on deep-water drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. That proved so unpopular that the administration officially ended it -- but it remains in force unofficially, as regulators bottle up drilling permits with red tape and delays, keeping workers idle. Most recently, Obama regulators placed the entire Atlantic and Pacific coasts off limits to drilling.

Factories: Rising regulatory burdens, energy prices and health-care costs -- Obama has left no stone unturned in making American manufacturing globally less competitive and in forcing jobs overseas.

ZERO Carbon Emissions Produces Abject Poverty, Sabotages Hope

The industrialized world needs to realize that the radical environmentalists’ demand for a ZERO carbon economy by 2050 is a cruel hoax being perpetrated upon the poor. Succumbing to the unproven theory that burning fossil fuels is warming the climate robs the poor of the hope to improve their lives. Instead of feeling guilty for enjoying their energy-produced modern lifestyles, developed nations should encourage the undeveloped world with the knowledge to produce their own energy.

On Wednesday, I left Cancun’s paradise, where tourists enjoy running water and electricity, to visit a small village called La Libertad that has none of those amenities. It was like visiting an alternate universe, an extreme contrast to what is being taken for granted by delegates to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, Conference of the Parties 16 in Mexico.
