Auto-Pilot Toward the Fiscal Cliff #tcot

Auto-Pilot Toward the Fiscal Cliff

Dec. 21, 2012 - With the failure of “Plan B” in the House last night, it appears very likely that the “fiscal cliff” is going to arrive. Of course, the mainstream media is blaming Tea Party-minded (read: principled) Congressmen for not supporting the plan.

This is outrageous, and an insult to the American people. Yes, principled Members of Congress held the line on tax hikes. Yes, Speaker Boehner has been awful in negotiating an alternative to the “fiscal cliff." But in the end, blame lies almost exclusively on the backs of two people: President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (R-NV).

Consider that even before details of “Plan B” had been released, President Obama and Senator Reid had already declared the legislation dead. The Senate departed Washington until after Christmas, and President Obama went on vacation, leaving the nation on auto-pilot as we speed toward the fiscal cliff. Apparently, kicking the proverbial can down the road is more important than actually doing the jobs for which both men were elected. Apparently, the ideology of raising taxes is more important than actually solving the spending problem that Washington has.

Because of their lack of leadership, America is likely to go over the fiscal cliff. Yet looking at the facts, it’s clear that raising taxes and not cutting spending really is the problem:

  1. A major study has found that the combination of expiring tax cuts and the implementation of ObamaCare will cost the country 710,000 jobs.
  2. Imposing a 100% tax on all households earning more than $250,000 – the “wealthy,” according to the President and Senator Reid – would keep Washington running for only 190 days according to Walter E. Williams.
  3. The government currently spends about of $30.60 per hour on welfare compared to the median income of $25.03 per American worker according to a study by Congressional Research Service.
  4. Cutting taxes in a time of economic stagnation would help boost the economy, boost employment, and increase revenue to the federal government to reduce the deficit.
  5. Many in the media and Washington will try to accuse the Tea Party of causing the dive over the “fiscal cliff.” Yet, we have outlined over the last 12 days, 12 solutions that would be a positive step in the right direction. It is time for Washington to stop avoiding their responsibilities, as they seem to have done here by leaving the country speeding on auto-pilot toward the fiscal cliff.

AEI: Turkey’s useful idiots #tcot

by Michael Rubin | posted Nov. 20, 2012
It doesn’t take much for Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to show his true colors. He’s been known as a man of strong opinions since his tenure as mayor of Istanbul. He has dragged a journalist to court for the crime of depicting him in a cartoon as a cat entangled in a ball of string. More Turkish journalists now sit in prison than their Chinese and Iranian counterparts. It is no wonder that Turkey now ranks below even Russia in press freedom.
Turkey’s attempts to quash speech no longer stop at its borders. When I referred to reports of corruption received by US diplomats—reports that Wikileaks subsequently affirmed—Egemen Bağış, a close Erdoğan ally, with the help of Turkey’s embassy in Washington, sued me (to no avail). Turkey has also become the leading proponent of UN legislation to ban criticism of radical Islam.
Nothing sets Erdoğan off, though, like Israel. Erdoğan has claimed Hamas rockets are an Israeli hoax (the Jews, after all, control the media in Erdoğan’s world). In the last few days he has lambasted Israel as a terrorist state, and accused it of ethnically cleansing Gaza, never mind that it withdrew from the Strip in 2005. This is the same man, however, who has denied that there had been any genocide in Darfur, a region in which the Sudanese government had killed hundreds of thousands of people because in Erdoğan’s mind, Muslim leaders don’t kill Muslims (unless, perhaps, they’re Kurds). As for the Turkish view of Hamas, all one needs to do is watch the reception Turkey’s parliamentary majority gave the terrorist leader when he visited Ankara.

The Battle To Save Drakes Bay Oyster Farm - Kevin Lunny speaks out #tcot

Defend Rural America

This is the story of Drakes Bay Oyster Farm, located on the Pacific coast just north of San Francisco, and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar's decision to destroy jobs, destroy 40% of California's oyster production, exterminate millions of oysters, terminate a beloved business that has been in operation since 1934, and make families that work there both jobless and homeless.

Gone are the days when government was limited, where individuals were politically acknowledged to possess unalienable rights, and where money was honest. The American political structure has been transformed. This has occurred quietly for more than 50 years without public awareness of the mechanisms underlying the change.
At the core of this transformation is the political process of “regionalizing” the country. Political regionalism is the antithesis of representative government. Regionalism restructures or reinvents the operation of American government by destroying traditional political boundaries, such as county lines, and ushers in a transformed system of governance that ultimately abolishes private property and the rights of the individual. Regionalism has infiltrated cities and counties everywhere, affecting transportation, water, farming and land use systems… literally every aspect of your life.
Let’s start with an example showing how Agenda 21 programs are brought into your town via “Regionalism.”
Here is an excerpt from the United Nations’ Agenda 21 document concerning transportation planning:

Towns across the country are adopting these transport systems. This is because these systems are imposed upon locales by a regional level of government largely unknown and underestimated.

The large scale version of the U.S. adoption of modern regionalism is a federally imposed extra-constitutional layer of government covering the entire nation.

According to the website of the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC), NARC “serves as the national voice of regionalism through effective interaction and advocacy with Congress, Federal officials and other agencies and interest groups.” NARC’s agenda includes but is not limited to: transportation, community and economic development, environment, homeland security, “regional preparedness,” and community issues…

In addition to NARC, citizens must know about the following regional planning and development agencies that work to implement NARC’s goals:

• Council of Governments (COG)
• Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)

The way past Obama is dismantling the United Nations #tcot

The way past Obama is dismantling the United Nations

Defund and defang the all-powerful, omnipotent United Nations

Monday, December 10, 2012

 - Judi McLeod & Doug Hagmann

The way to free America from the destructive administration of President Barack Hussein Obama is out there.

Four more years of Obama has left America in a massive depression with We the People feeling there is nothing left but to give up.

But giving up is never the answer when the way to free America, and in fact citizens of the world from Obama,  is to petition Canada—the nation that started it all—to dismantle the United Nations. Dismantling the United Nations is an end-around, out-of-the-box type of tactic that we have yet see anyone consider, yet could well be an effective method of neutering threats on multiple levels.

UNswitchThe ongoing plan to fundamentally transform America did not originate with Obama, who is merely the latest Agent of Change working to complete a UN agenda to implement One World Order (OWO).

The lights went out in America on November 6, but the darkness is also descending on the Free West.

The United Nations houses, down to the last one, all the advocates of One World Order and currently has a grip on civil society through its insidious Agenda 21.  The UN’s mission for OWO was stalled until their ‘Agent for Change’ was elected as US president in 2008.  The UN’s mission could not proceed with a strong and economically viable US as world leader and superpower.

The way back into the light rests in the dismantling of the UN.

WND: The GOP's not-so-secret weapon on fiscal cliff

'We are facing 4 years of unpleasantness for Obama'
cameraWASHINGTON – The only way to prevent the Obama administration from blaming Republicans in the fiscal cliff debate is to demand transparency by bringing in television cameras, says noted tax activist Grover Norquist.

What advice would Norquist give House Speaker John Boehner?

“Bring in C-SPAN and televise the negotiations,” Norquist, president and founder of Americans for Tax Reform told WND in an exclusive interview. “It’s the best way to expose the White House plan to build public pressure on Republicans to force House Speaker John Boehner to cave into at the eleventh hour to raise income-tax rates on the wealthiest Americans.

Freedomworks: BLOCK THE EXCHANGE #tcot

Join the Obamacare Exchange Fight

Around the country numerous states are taking a stand against ObamaCare. With enough support, their efforts could derail the costly, unconstitutional government takeover of healthcare and force Congress to reexamine the law.

FreedomWorks has taken the lead in this fight by launching our website blockexchanges.com where activists can contact their top state officials and urge them to say no to an ObamaCare exchange.

To learn more on how ObamaCare can still be stopped, be sure to read FreedomWorks’ Legislative Council Dean Clancy’s latest article in the Daily Caller. Click here to read “States Still Have the Power to Reject Obamacare.”

Since the early 1970s there has been a systematic and deliberate effort to destroy private property rights in America through the warm and fuzzy goal of sustainable development.

David Rockefeller co-founded the Club of Rome in 1968 as an elite, somewhat occult think tank. The Club of Rome published Limits to Growth in 1972, which called for severe limits on human population and state control of all development in the world to achieve “sustainable development.” Sustainable development was eventually formalized into a United Nations global action plan called Agenda 21, which President Bush committed the U.S. to at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. President Clinton put into action by the creation of Sustainable America in 1996. If fully implemented, private property rights will be a thing of the past.

States Should Flatly Reject ObamaCare Exchanges

States Should Flatly Reject ObamaCare Exchanges

Once Again They Refuse to Listen #NoStateXchng

The Florida Legislature is preparing to implement a State Healthcare Exchange required by ObamaCare instead of standing on principle to reclaim their sovereign rights in this disgraceful power grab.

Just because the U.S. Supreme Court has decided that the "plan" is a constitutionally permitted "tax," it does not mean that it must be accepted in its present form (or at all). The question of its violation of the Congress' Constitutional authority has not yet been ruled, because the issue was not "ripe," and that challenge must come from the states. State governments must act to protect their citizens in the same manner as was done against the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798. At that time, the legislatures of Virginia and Kentucky declared these acts null and void against their citizens and asserted their states' obligation to protect their own citizens (even against the federal government).  In the face of today's federal overreach, twenty-one states have already expressed opposition to these exchanges.

The Florida Senate Select Committee on PACA (Patient Affordable Care Act) is having their first meeting on Monday, December 3rd at 3:00 pm. The members must know from today on that we expect them to say NO to any implementation of state exchanges for Obamacare.

In that effort, Florida opposition groups are hosting the tools you can use to let these people know that they are being watched very carefully. We are asking that each of you link to the following websites to initiate a letter of opposition to the legislators who are involved in this question and to our Governor, who is remaining undecided.

  • It is IMPERATIVE that every member of this committee be called and emailed between now and Monday afternoon.
  • They must be told to just say "NO" to implementing State-run PACA exchanges.
  • 21 other States will NOT be creating exchanges. FLORIDA must join those States in non-compliance.

Florida Tenth Amendment Center

Further, the complete NULLIFICATION of the Patient Affordability Care Act must be enacted in Florida to rid us of this curse once and for all. See our model legislation at http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/legislation/federal-health-care-nullification-act/.

Activist KrisAnne Hall, in recent confernce calls, referenced her articles on Nullification which are on her website along with a sample letter to be used for sending to our legislators and Governor.

The Liberty GroupThe Liberty Group, a national patriot site, also posted an opposition page.

The Tenth Amendment Center has a petition and a resolution on their website.

Americans for Prosperity has an Action Alert on their website.

KrisAnne Hall recommended that we all send letters from our own perspectives - focusing on the constitutional and economic issues.  She is scheduled to speak before the committee on Monday but may only be given 2 minutes. They are trying to find out if other people can sign up to speak and then reserve their time for KrisAnne.

She suggested that we do an “e-rally” beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2nd and run through 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3rd.  During this time we should bombard our Florida legislators and the Governor with emails, phone calls, faxes, and tweets.

Anyone who can, should go to Tallahassee on Monday.  Please plan on visiting the committee members' offices prior to their hearing.  We need to make it clear that if they do go ahead and set up the health exchanges, there will be consequences to their actions. We need to let them know that we will not support them if they implement the exchanges. We also need to resolve ourselves to the fact that we will not comply with the law if it goes into effect.  She asked that we pass this information on to our members or anyone else we know who can help with this endeavor.

The federal government has been given $1 billion to establish exchanges and that money is ALREADY gone.  If we refuse to establish the exchanges, the federal government is not prepared and cannot establish the exchanges on their own.

This could be a fatal blow to the healthcare act as the federal government will have to ask Congress for more money to establish the exchanges and we can pressure them not to grant it.

On their website (AFP) is an Action alert where you can email Governor Scott, Senator Gaetz, and Rep. Weatherford.

(editor's note: Sen. Gaetz has already replied to this writer that, in his opinion, the Act was ruled "constitutional" and they are "obligated" to comply. WE DISAGREE.)

StopTheFloridaExchangesOn Facebook, you can participate at http://www.facebook.com/StopTheFloridaExchanges.

For those who use TWITTER, use the hashtag, #NoStateXchng.

Remember, the more contacts you make, the more likely they are to realize that they are selling out their fellow citizens with this state exchange.

Tell your state representatives and senators:

  • The Federal government cannot force states to implement the exchanges (they currently have no ability to operate or to fund exchanges if the states don’t implement).  States will not have flexibility if they set up their own exchanges. Everything will have to be approved by the Federal government.
  • If the state sets up an exchange it is going to result in taxes on businesses ($3,000 per employee),  this happens only if a state sets up an exchange.
  • It will result in higher costs per family, either in premium costs or penalties.

We have already had an Exchange in Florida. Back in the 90's, called "Community Health Purchasing Alliances" (CHPA). They NEVER operated in the black - we, the taxpayers had to make up the difference every year. Sen Bill Nelson called them his biggest nightmare. Why would we want to go back to that (remember definition of insanity)?

Taxes are built into the bill that are linked directly to the premium costs, and will rise with a snowballing effect.  When the taxes rise, the premiums will rise.  As the premiums rise the taxes will rise. Nightmare.

68% of Florida residents would be eligible for the tax credits to help pay the premiums. Medicaid rolls would greatly expand. The federal government will send money for the first three years, after that Florida will have to fund a portion of it. Do you think Florida's share will be assessed favorably?

We will not finish this battle on Monday.  This will be an ongoing fight for many months. We will need your SUSTAINED support.  We intend to keep up with the contact after Monday, as a slow stream of constant reminders that WE WILL NOT COMPLY!

Rick Scott Keeps Options Open On Obamacare Exchanges

by Javier Manjarres

Florida’s Governor Rick Scott has been one loudest critics of President Obama’s ‘Obamacare’ healthcare law, and has vowed to do everything in his power to prevent the ominous job-killing law from being implemented in the state of Florida.

But while his pushback on Obamacare has garnered significant Republican and Independent voter support, Democrats have labeled him and others opposed to the law as “extremists” who are out of touch with mainstream America.

Now that President Obama has won re-election, Governor Scott has opened up dialogue with the Obama Administration on a possible compromise on the healthcare law, leaving conservative groups and activists extremely disappointed in Scott’s possible change in position on Obamacare.  Scott sent a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius asking her for a meeting to discuss what, if anything can be done collaboratively to reduce healthcare costs for Floridians.

Caught in a Budget Trap #tcot

by Jagadeesh Gokhale

This article appeared in The Hill on November 29, 2012.

The recent drumbeat from the political left on the disastrous effects of "austere" budget-cutting in European economies is intended to sandbag against similar policies in the United States. The key contention is that spending cuts have made budget balancing more difficult in European countries: supposedly, lower public spending in those countries reduced employment and income, reduced government revenues and increased the ratio of government debt to Gross Domestic Product. The left concludes that, to avoid a similar experience, the U.S. should increase spending in the short term, instead of cutting it, and attempt a "grand bargain" to balance long-term spending and taxes.

The problem is there may never be a "right" time to transition to the promised long-term structural budget resolution.

Stop Ratification of UN Treaty -- Possible This Week!

November 27, 2012

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced that he plans to bring the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) to the Senate floor sometime this week.  The CRPD is another American sovereignty-threatening treaty, which President Obama signed on July 30, 2009, but has not yet been ratified by the Senate and for good reason!

We need you to tell your friends and neighbors about this new UN attempted power grab, and we need everyone to call and email your Senators, and urge them to vote against the CRPD treaty.

The American public cannot afford for this treaty to pass and allow the United Nations to implement more regulation that will have devastating effects on every American "person, organization, or private enterprise."  Worse yet, people with disabilities deserve better!  Addressing disabilities issues through an international bureaucracy undermines our ability to empower families and communities to serve disabled people’s needs.

The CRPD Treaty would expand the already growing powers of the UN in the United States, undermining our national sovereignty.  These new regulations are so complex that every American citizen will be impacted by the far-reaching consequences.

The CRPD Treaty will:

  • Exceed the bounds of the Americans with Disabilities Act and eliminate any remaining state sovereignty on the issue of disability law.
  • Demand that all American law on this subject conform to UN standards.
  • Force “every person, organization, or private enterprise” to eliminate discrimination on the basis of disability. This imposes impossible burdens and expenses onto private citizens, as they can be held in violation of the treaty if their private property is not fully accessible to persons with disabilities, even if they do not know any persons with disabilities.
  • Give the UN the power to determine the legitimacy and lawfulness of the United States’ budgets to assess compliance with such treaties.

Before the Senate left for recess in September, our conservative ally, Utah Senator Mike Lee, obtained signatures from more than 34 of his Senate colleagues asking that no treaties be brought to the Senate floor during the Lame Duck session.  The total has now risen to 36 Senators who have signed this letter. Below is the list of Senators who signed the letter.  If your Senator(s) signed the letter, please thank them and urge them to stand strong!

McConnell hits back, says move threatens collegiality

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid confirmed Monday he will push to change Senate rules and curtail some Republican filibusters next year, setting up a major test of collegiality and power politics in the usually chummy chamber that bills itself as “the world’s most exclusive club.”

Republicans said that if Mr. Reid goes ahead, he’ll not only ruin the unique nature of the Senate, but he’ll poison chances for bipartisan cooperation just as members of the next Congress are taking their seats in January.

Where Global Warming Meets Anti-Capitalism

Where Global Warming Meets Anti-Capitalism

by DiscoverTheNetworks.org

Jeremy RifkinGlobal warming alarmist Jeremy Rifkin calls for the transformation of free-market capitalism into "distributed capitalism."

Jeremy Rifkin was born in Denver, Colorado in January 1945, and was raised in southwest Chicago. He holds an economics degree from the Wharton School of Business, and a degree in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

During the 1960s and 1970s, Rifkin was active in the peace movement. He helped organize the massive 1967 March on the Pentagon, and two years later he co-founded the Citizens Commission, a group devoted to publicizing alleged U.S. war crimes in Vietnam. In 1970 Rifkin established the People's Bicentennial Commission (PBC), a New Left organization that preached hostility to corporations and called for a second American Revolution, this one based on leftist principles. In 1973, on the 200th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, Rifkin and PBC staged a so-called Boston Oil Party, a huge demonstration whose purpose was, as Rifkin put it, “to promote radical change” by condemning big oil companies and their profits.

In the late 1970s, Rifkin, with no formal training in the physical sciences, began speaking out against the fledgling biotechnology industry, which he viewed as a manifestation of mankind's ill-advised impulse to interfere with the workings of the natural world. Noting Rifkin's “skillfully manipulated legal and bureaucratic procedures to slow the pace of biotechnology,” National Journal named him one of the 150 most influential people in shaping federal government policy.

As the seventies progressed, Rifkin continued to burnish his credentials as the intellectual guru of neo-Luddism, the belief that modern technology has a destructive impact on mankind's quality of life and on the environment. To promote this worldview, Rifkin in 1977 established the Foundation on Economic Trends

Since 2002, Rifkin has served as an advisor to the European Union.

Washington Times: House to consider limited GOP immigration bill

House to consider limited GOP immigration bill
WASHINGTON — House Republicans still smarting from their poor showing among Hispanics in the presidential election are planning a vote next week on immigration legislation that would both expand visas for foreign science and technology students and make it easier for those with green cards to bring their immediate families to the U.S.
Republican leaders made it clear after the election that the party was ready to get serious about overhauling the nation’s dysfunctional immigration system, a top priority for Hispanic communities. Taking up what is called the STEM Jobs Act during the lame-duck session could be seen as a first step in that direction.
The House voted on a STEM bill — standing for science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in September, but under a procedure requiring a two-thirds majority. It was defeated, with more than 80 percent of Democrats voting against it, because it offset the increase in visas for high-tech graduates by eliminating another visa program that is available for less-educated foreigners, many from Africa.
Republicans are changing the formula this time by adding a provision long sought by some immigration advocates — expanding a program that allows the spouses and minor children of people with permanent residence, or green card, to wait in the United States for their own green cards to be granted.

COP 18, the UN conference on climate change, begins in just days and CFACT is taking it on!

The UN is taking no chances. It is simultaneously working towards a new international treaty, while hedging its bets through achieving many of its principle (and most destructive) goals through side agreements, massive funding and national policy making.

Political Parties Need Rebranding

by Phyllis Schlafly | November 21, 2012

Dozens of explanations have been offered by people who think they are savvy about politics to explain why Mitt Romney lost and Barack Obama was reelected despite his many unlawful actions and the high unemployment figures. I toss into the mix my view that the two major political parties need rebranding.

Obama’s massive negative TV advertising rather successfully branded Romney and the Republican Party as rich guys who can’t empathize with ordinary hard-working Americans. In fact, Obama grew up enjoying a pampered lifestyle attending elite schools and colleges and now is rich, too, with his wealth and lifestyle coming from the taxpayers.

Nevertheless, when the pollsters asked the question, “Who is more in touch with people like you?” Romney lost to Obama by ten points. Why is it that Romney didn’t seem to relate to middle-class Americans?

We can’t blame only Romney’s country-club persona for the psychological barrier between him and the bloc of middle-class Americans whose votes he lost. We must also blame the Republican Party’s devotion to policies that allowed, even encouraged, several million well-paying manufacturing jobs to go overseas, leaving behind empty buildings in crucial swing states.

Read this excellent essay at Eagle Forum...

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

“What the president’s campaign did was focus on certain members of his base coalition, give them extraordinary financial gifts from the government and then work very aggressively to turn them out to vote, and that strategy worked.”

Thus did political analyst Mitt Romney identify the cause of his defeat in a call to disconsolate contributors.

Republicans piled on. “Completely unhelpful,” Gov. Bobby Jindal told Wolf Blitzer. We don’t advance the “debate by insulting folks.”

“A terrible thing to say,” Gov. Chris Christie told Joe Scarborough. “You can’t expect to be the leader of all the people and be divisive.”

Oh. Was not Abe Lincoln at least mildly “divisive”? Did not FDR insult Wall Street folks by calling them “money changers in the temple of our civilization”? Was Ronald Reagan a uniter not a divider when he said, “Let the bloodbath begin!” and mocked “welfare queens”?

And Harry Truman, did he not insult and divide – and win?

“I just think it’s nuts,” Newt Gingrich told ABC’s Martha Raddatz of Romney’s remark, kicking him again in an Austin TV interview:

“Governor Romney’s analysis … is insulting and profoundly wrong. … We didn’t lose Asian-Americans because they got any gifts. He did worse with Asian-Americans than he did with Latinos. This is the hardest-working and most successful ethnic group in America, OK, they ain’t into gifts.”

Now, Newt does have a point.

What explains the GOP wipeout among Asian-Americans? Folks of Korean, Chinese and Japanese descent have a legendary work ethic, are academic overachievers and are possessed of an entrepreneurial spirit. They should be natural Republicans.

But Mitt also has a point.

Consider America’s largest, fastest-growing minority.

Hispanics constituted 10 percent of the electorate, up from 7.5 in 2008. But Mitt got only 27 percent of that, the lowest of any Republican presidential candidate.

This, we are told, was because of Mitt’s comment about “self-deportation” and GOP support for a border fence and sanctions on employers who hire illegals. If only we embrace the Dream Act and provide a path to citizenship – amnesty – the GOP’s problem is solved.

The Republican capacity for self-delusion is truly awesome.

Set aside the idealized Hispanic of the Republican consultants’ vision. What does the real Hispanic community look like today?

Let us consider only native-born Hispanics, U.S. citizens.

According to Steve Camarota of the Center for Immigration Studies, which analyzed Census Bureau statistics from 2012:

  • More than one in five Hispanic citizens lives in poverty.
  • One in four Hispanic-American men 25 to 55 is out of work.
  • More than half of all Hispanic women 25-55 are unmarried.
  • Half of all Hispanic households with children are headed by an unmarried woman, and 55 percent depend on welfare programs.

These numbers do not improve with time, as they did with the Irish, Italian, Polish, Jewish and German immigrants who poured into the United States between 1890 and 1920. Third-generation Hispanics do worse than second-generation Hispanics in all the above categories.

This is a huge community being sucked into the morass of a mammoth welfare state. Consider a typical Hispanic household with children.

It is headed by an unmarried woman who receives food stamps and public housing or rent supplements to feed and house her children.

Her kids are educated free from Head Start to K-12 and fed by school breakfast and lunch programs. Should they graduate high school, Pell Grants and student loans are there for college.

For cash, mom gets welfare checks. If she takes a job, she will receive an earned income tax credit to supplement her income. If she loses her job, she can get 99 weeks of unemployment checks.

For health care, there is Medicaid and Obamacare. And like 45 percent of all Hispanic households, she has no federal income tax liability.

Why should this woman vote for a party that will cut taxes she does not pay, but reduce benefits she does receive?

Rename Romney’s gifts “government services,” writes Aaron Blake citing a Washington Post poll, and one discovers that 67 percent of Latinos favor “a larger government with more services.”

These are big-government people. And why should they not be?

According to Heather Mac Donald, writing in National Review, a 2011 survey found that California Hispanics by four to one objected more to the GOP on class-warfare grounds – the party “favors only the rich,” Republicans are “selfish” – than to the GOP stand on immigration.

Writes Mac Donald: California’s Hispanics will likely prove more decisive in passing Proposition 30, to raise state income taxes to 13.3 percent, the highest level in the nation, than to Obama’s victory.

Nor is this unusual. Populist programs to stick it to the rich have always had an appeal south of the border.

There are 50 million Hispanics in America today. California is lost to the GOP. Nevada and Colorado are slipping away. Arizona and Texas are next up on the block.

With the U.S. Hispanic population in 2050 projected to reach 130 million, the acolytes of Karl Rove have their work cut out for them.

You Are The Last Best Hope For America

Fellow Patriots,
With the catastrophic loss of the Republican elite’s hand-picked candidate –Tea Party Patriots like you are the last best hope America has to restore America’s founding principles.
For those of us who believe that America, as founded, is the greatest country in the history of the world – a ‘Shining city upon a hill’ – we wanted someone who would fight for us. We wanted a fighter like Ronald Reagan who boldly championed America’s founding principles, who inspired millions of independents and ‘Reagan Democrats’ to join us, and who fought his leftist opponents on the idea that America, as founded, was a ‘Shining city upon a hill.’
What we got was a weak moderate candidate, hand-picked by the Beltway elites and country-club establishment wing of the Republican Party.  The Presidential loss is unequivocally on them.
While it might take longer with President Obama back in office, we are not going away and will continue to educate Americans on our core principles, and why they are essential for America's future greatness.  It took over 40 years to take America to the place we are tonight. We have known since we began protesting at our first round of tea parties in February, 2009, it would take longer than 3 ½ years to correct the problems facing our country.
The re-election of President Obama may be daunting tonight. Remember in 2008, the people who did not give up after the elections, the ones who started Top Conservatives on Twitter, Smart Girl Politics, and DontGo, paved the way for us to have a conference call with just 22 people on the call after Rick Santelli had a rant in 3 months later. We went from 22 people to over 40 million voters who said they identify with the “tea party” and would vote with the tea party in less than 4 years.  That happened because of each of you.
We cannot change what the Republican establishment handed us tonight.  We can stop Barack Obama from fundamentally changing the future and character of this nation. We can stop the mushy-middle, non-fighters in the GOP from rolling over and getting rolled, yet again by the Left.
Here is what we are going to do.
We are going to fight for America’s founding principles.
Our core principles of free markets, fiscal responsibility, and constitutionally limited government resonate with the American people.
When we fight for our principles, we win.
When the GOP elbows aside the American people, because they think they know what`s best for us – they lose.  Like they just did.
We are not going away.
We respect the Constitution and we know that, for America to succeed, we need to continue educating Americans on our core principles, and why are they essential for America's future greatness.
Now we turn our attention back to Congress, to fight the battles that lie ahead.
As in 2010, state by state and county by county, we will fight for the freedom other Americans have fought for.  We will also turn our attention back to Congress, to fight the battles that lie ahead.
Here is what We, the People, will fight for:
  •    Ÿ A balanced budget in 5 years – without raising taxes
  •     Repealing Obamacare
  •     Cutting the debt
  •     Not letting them smash through the debt ceiling – again
  •     The sequestration cuts deadline
There are some things worth fighting for.

America is worth fighting for.

The fight has just begun.

From the MANITOBA HERALD, Canada (a very underground paper):

The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The possibility of a Romney/Ryan election is prompting the exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray, and agree with Bill O'Reilly. Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night.

"I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota . The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. "He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left. Didn't even get a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. So he tried installing speakers that blare Rush Limbaugh across the fields. "Not real effective," he said. "The liberals still got through, and Rush annoyed the cows so much they wouldn't give milk."

Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons, drive them across the border and leave them to fend for themselves. "A lot of these people are not prepared for rugged conditions," an Ontario border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a drop of drinking water. "They did have a nice little Napa Valley Cabernet, though."

When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have been circulating about the Romney administration establishing re-education camps in which liberals will be forced to shoot wolves from airplanes, deny evolution, and act out drills preparing them for the Rapture.

In recent days, liberals have turned to sometimes-ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have taken to posing as senior citizens on bus trips to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans disguised in powdered wigs, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior-citizen passengers on Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney hits to prove they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we get suspicious about their age," an official said.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and are renting all the good Susan Sarandon movies. "I feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said. "How many art-history and English majors does one country need?"

Muslims Celebrate EID Giving Fake Guns to 4th Graders

Here we go again. Local muslims have truly stepped over the line bigtime, and now the Rutherford County School District [Tennessee] needs to take action.  A young muslim student celebrated  the holiday Eid al-Adha on Friday Oct 26 by bringing in presents for his class. Girls received necklaces and dolls, but the boys received table top games and fake guns ( see below picture).

The inappropriateness of this is unacceptable and abhorrent. The very thought that a muslim parent allowed a child to bring gifts to classmates is disturbing, since most schools don’t even allow christian  students to exchange Christmas gifts, unless they specify what gifts can be exchanged.

The next problem, where was the teacher? The action( or non reaction in this case) allowed  for several children to get on school buses with a fake handgun.

Doesnt the Rutherford County School District have a zero tolerance policy? Is it acceptable for children to bring fake guns into school? Has the child been expelled? Have the muslim parents been approached by school officials since they most likely purchased and wrapped the fake guns?

Parents, you need to be outraged. Outraged over fake guns being given out as gifts,Outraged at the blatant indoctrination of your child being given a gift for an islamic holiday, when Christmas and Easter have essentially been banned.   The phones at the Rutherford County Schools should not  be silent for several days. The governors office also needs to be contacted. Children have been expelled and or arrested for less than this for sure.

I can only imagine if a non muslim student gave a muslim student a gift for their religious holiday , especially a fake gun,  there would be riots in the street for sure.

Exclusive Interview with F. A. Hayek

by James U. Blanchard III

SOURCECato Institute

Link above to the article detailing Blanchard's interview with F.A. Hayek in 1984. The following excerpt is from that interview:

Q: That leads me to another question. What do you think accounts for the fact that capitalism has had such a bad reputation among the intellectual elite? Is it a simple matter of envy, or is there a more fundamental reason?

Hayek: Yes, this is a very curious story. It was the enormous influence of Karl Marx's teaching that capitalism has created the proletariat. It's curious because the fact is true, but the capitalist hasn't created the proletariat by expropriating anybody. On the contrary, he has created a proletariat by enabling people to live who otherwise could not have lived. He has created a proletariat by keeping people alive! In that sense, the proletariat is a creation of capitalism, and all these people just wouldn't exist without capitalism.

Q: If capitalism wasn't here to provide the labor, the jobs, and the capital, millions of people would not exist.

Hayek: Only capitalism could have created what I call the extended society, which is based on the utilization of infinitely more resources than any other system could have used.

Part of election is about how much control we want government to have #tcot

by Charles De Garmo, TC Palm, Nov. 02, 2012

Charles DeGarmoOur country is at a real turning point. In this election we have to decide if we want bigger government with more intrusion into our daily lives or are we (the people) to remain somewhat free to decide what we want or don't want in our lives?

All of us have basic freedoms disappearing faster than you can count. No 16-ounce sodas in New York. No trans-fats allowed in restaurants. No three-gallon toilets. No trespassing at any buildings or grounds where the Secret Service is protecting someone. And you're so stupid your government will pick out which light bulbs you're allowed to use and put the nutritional content of water on bottled water for you.

Did you know there are zero calories in water?

Today we have less freedom, less liberty and more government than when we were born. This has been made partially possible by about 15 Supreme Court decisions that have curbed individual rights and expanded government without the public noticing, including the recent "biggie" giving Congress the right to charge a "tax" or "penalty" for something you might not want to buy.

Author of Federalist Society Report on Florida Justices: They ARE Activists

By: ERIC GIUNTA | Posted: October 31, 2012 SUNSHINE STATE NEWS

In an exclusive interview with Sunshine State News, Professor Elizabeth Price Foley of Florida International University College of Law condemns what she insists were "misleading" early media stories on a report she authored on three Florida Supreme Court justices up for retention on the November ballot.

The report – titled “A Review of the Florida Supreme Court: 2000-2012” and published on behalf of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies, the nation's premier fellowship of conservative and libertarian lawyers and law students -- is being hailed by supporters of the justices as some sort of vindication of their record on the bench. Justices Barbara Pariente, R. Fred Lewis, and Peggy Quince are accused by their critics of being left-wing activists who do not rule in accordance with the principles of originalism, the doctrine that judges ought to interpret law according to its original public meaning.

Foley’s report is a review of nine rulings over the past 12 years which she says are among the justices’ “most controversial.” Foley does say that “there does not appear to be a pattern of unprincipled decision-making by any of the justices of the Florida Supreme Court.” However, she goes on to say that “[t]here are ... discernible voting patterns on the Florida Supreme Court and they seem to be based on the general ideological leanings of the justices.”

The hidden real truth about Benghazi

(ed.: Could this be why Romney did not engage Obama on this subject during the last debate?)

By Doug Hagmann  Sunday, October 28, 2012

Most people know that we’ve been lied to about the attacks in Benghazi, but few realize the extent of those lies or the hidden secrets they cover. After all, the lie is different at every level. Thanks to a well placed source with extensive knowledge about the attack, the disturbing truth is slowly beginning to emerge and is lining up with information contained in my previous articles published here weeks ago (Here, Here and Here). The truth reveals the most serious situation in the world today as it involves the interests and destinies of us all.

A mosaic of lies

According to the U.S. government, Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed during a spontaneous protest at the consulate office in Benghazi by a frenzied crowd of Muslims outraged over an obscure internet video. Recently released “sensitive but not classified e-mails” from Stevens to the U.S. Department of State painted a picture of poor security for U.S. personnel and the embassy, which was obviously truebut had little to do with the events of September 11, 2012. The failure to dispatch an extraction team or otherwise rescue the men during a firefight that lasted upwards of nine grueling and tortuous hours was not the result of any intelligence failure, but caused by our unwillingness to widen the conflict and expose the nature and scale of our true mission in Benghazi.

Based on information provided by my source and corroborated elsewhere, the official account by administration officials is a mosaic of lies that were necessary to cover the unpalatable truth of covert actions taking place in Libya, Syria, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. The primary objective of our covert actions was to secretly arm anti-Assad “rebels” in Syria by funneling arms from Libya to Syria via Turkey, with other destinations that included Jordan and Lebanon.  Regarding the threat to Stevens and the other murdered Americans, the truth will reformat the persistent question posed to government officials, from UN Ambassador Susan Rice to White House Spokesman Jay Carney and others from “how could you not have known” to “how could you have done these things?”

First, it is important to understand that Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Dougherty and Tyrone Woods were not killed at a consulate office in Benghazi—as there is not such office there. They died at one of the largest CIA operations centers in the Middle East, which was located in Benghazi and served as the logistics headquarters for arms and weapons being shipped out of the post-Qaddafi Libya.
