DHS Secretary Kelly Ends DAPA Amnesty

DHS Secretary Kelly Ends DAPA Amnesty

PUBLISHED:

DHS Secretary John Kelly partially fulfilled one of President Trump's key campaign promises on Thursday night when he rescinded the DAPA amnesty. The illegal and unconstitutional executive amnesty issued by former President Barack Obama would have granted an estimated 5 million work permits to illegal aliens who were the parents of U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents.

The Administration has yet to take action on the DACA Amnesty, and a DHS report last week showed that the Trump Administration has issued thousands of new work permits to illegal aliens and renewed more than a 100,000 more since taking office.

Are We Nearing Civil War?

Are We Nearing Civil War?

June 13, 2017

President Trump may be chief of state, head of government and commander in chief, but his administration is shot through with disloyalists plotting to bring him down.
We are approaching something of a civil war where the capital city seeks the overthrow of the sovereign and its own restoration.

Articles: The Zinnification of America

This is an example of how our schools got so screwed up. This is still being taught to our teachers.

Howard Zinn
Articles: The Zinnification of America

The Zinnification of America

This may sound like it, but it’s not a journal of winetasting. It’s about the undue, horrific influence of a man named Howard Zinn. He became a famous, or accurately infamous, historian. Zinn, more than any other man, turned our history books on their heads, and in a way, changed the contemporary course of history. “Who controls the past, controls the future.” He excelled at this task.

He was somewhat wispy and vulnerable looking in spite of being tall. He could not debate well and he spoke slowly, as if he was in a mildly drugged high. He had a following of female students that was obvious, with lots of student rumors swirling around about his character. He was liked by the majority of his students, who like myself, wanted to take his classes. He was edgy and cool.

He was one of the fathers of the new left back in the late sixties and seventies. He inspired the SDS, coupling with them, making up many of the stories of why America was such a horrible place. The stories became his famous book A People’s History of the United States. In hindsight, it was obvious he made them up (being kind, let’s just say he slanted things), because he was a Marxist. During those years he spoke of the importance of “revolutionary thinking” in his classrooms. It’s hard to believe his influence grew so much.

Buyer Beware: School Choice and Voucher Programs Require Alignment With Common Core

Buyer Beware: School Choice and Voucher Programs Require Alignment With Common Core

The Glenn Beck Program Posted on Friday, Jun 9, 2017

Republicans are selling a false bill of goods when it comes to providing parents choices to escape Common Core and public education. Shannon Joy, host of The Shannon Joy Show and an expert on Common Core, joined The Glenn Beck Program on Friday to speak frankly on the matter.

“Republicans now are putting forth a false solution. They’re coming out — Donald Trump, Betsy Devos, some of our favorite conservative Republicans — I don’t know if they quite understand the nuance of this, but they’re pitching to conservatives the idea of school choice vouchers and charters as a solution when that is not the case. In every piece of legislation and every state, including Texas which voted it down just recently because of this, every voucher program, every choice program requires that the user of that voucher or that choice education institution must be aligned with the federal standards. Those standards are Common Core,” Joy said.

Mike Opelka, filling in for Glenn on radio, asked what parents need to know.

“I think we need to arm parents with information. If they’re willing to go into battle against Common Core, we need to give them the ammunition. So what are the one or two things you as a parent can say when you’re up there questioning these folks on Common Core?” Opelka asked.

Joy pointed out that education planners on the right and the left try to distract parents with the notion of students needing standards — but that isn’t the issue. “Every parent wants a school to have high standards. That’s obvious. The question isn’t the standards, it’s the curriculum,” Joy said.

Smith: Make the Successful Everglades Python Hunt Permanent

Make the Successful Everglades Python Hunt Permanent

June 5, 2017 - 6:00am
Those who scoffed in March at the South Florida Water Management District's Python Elimination Program can eat their words now.
The program ended June 1 as an unqualified success -- 154 dead snakes, weighing a total of 4,000 pounds, all taken from Water Management District lands in Miami-Dade County. Many females killed were carrying eggs.
Drop in the bucket, you say? Considering wildlife officials estimate there may be as many as 150,000 Burmese pythons in the Florida Everglades, slithering eating machines competing for the ecosystem's wildlife -- maybe you're right. Maybe 154 kills don't solve the problem.
But the Water Management District always said, we have to start somewhere, and four years ago when a python hunt first was proposed, no environmental group was prepared to take it on. In fact, nobody had a suggestion for any kind of eradication program. Only the District stepped up.
