Doing what I do most days is beyond frustrating. Most of the time I feel raw anger at the betrayal by those elected to preserve and protect the U.S. Constitution and our God-given rights. Both at the state and federal level. I also get frustrated because too many folks just don't seem to get it: Doing nothing means nothing will get done. There are too many who have simply thrown in the towel and are willing to get on their knees and get fitted for chains that will forever take away their freedoms and liberty. Too many who seem to stay distracted by the carefully orchestrated BS shoved into their brain every day of the week during this election cycle.

Many are leaving their own country because "it's all over". I'm sure the same attitude prevailed in the time leading up to and during the Revolutionary War. But, no matter how tough it got, no matter how miserable those patriots were, they did not tuck tail and run or we would still be licking the bootstraps of the British. Do we want to forfeit all that was given to us with rivers of blood just because the forces against us have all the money, own the media and the criminal syndicate out in Washington, DC? The outlaws in the U.S. Congress are counting on the majority of Americans to simply roll over as they continue to destroy our republic.

The one thing the power brokers do not want is for the states to flex their sovereign power and reject what's coming out of Washington. The shadow government does not want the other 49 states to do as Alabama did in June of this year: Pass a law stopping Agenda 21 and UN for their whole state. The amount of information out there on Agenda 21 and ICLEI is absolutely overwhelming. But, key documents like this one prove this is a UN project, who the players are and how they plan to destroy us:

As I have said in the two previous columns with bills to challenge the non-ratification of the Seventeenth Amendment and a constitutional money bill - time is not on our side. It is the 2013 session for our state legislatures that is either going to stop the tyranny or we probably will not make it. All of the foreign entanglements (financial as well as treaties) will destroy us if we do not succeed in getting critical bills passed and signed by our governors. That is the bottom line.

After his great victory in Desert Storm, George H.W. Bush went before the United Nations to declare the coming of a New World Order.

The Cold War was yesterday. Communism was in its death throes. The Soviet Empire had crumbled.

The Soviet Union was disintegrating. Francis Fukuyama was writing of “The End of History.” Savants trilled about the inevitable triumph of democratic capitalism.

Yet, in 2012, sectarianism, tribalism and nationalism are all resurgent, reshaping a world where U.S. power and influence are visibly receding.

Syria is sinking into a war of all against all that may end with a breakup of the nation along ethno-sectarian lines – Arab, Druze, Kurd, Sunni, Shia and Christian. Iraq descends along the same path.

A U.S. war with Iran could end with a Kurdish enclave in Iran’s northwest tied to Iraqi Kurdistan, Iran’s Azeri north drifting toward Azerbaijan, and a Balochi enclave in the south linked to Pakistan’s largest province, Balochistan, leaving Iran only Persia.

The Middle and Near East seem to be descending into a Muslim Thirty Years’ War of Sunni vs. Shia. Out of it may come new nations whose names and borders were not written in drawing rooms by 19th and 20th century European cartographers, but in blood.

India, too, is feeling the tremors. Ethnic violence in the Assam region has sent hundreds of thousands fleeing in panic.

In East Asia, ethnonationalism, fed by memories from the 20th century, is igniting clashes among former Cold War allies.

China’s claim to the Spratly, Paracel and other islands in the South China Sea puts Beijing in conflict with Hanoi, which welcomes U.S. warships back to Cam Ranh Bay. Were not these the same people we bombed and blasted not so long ago?

Twenty years ago, Manila ordered the U.S. Navy out of Subic Bay, which had been home to the U.S. Pacific Fleet almost since the Spanish-American war. Now Manila is inviting America back.

CBS, AP: Dem chair of House Oversight covered up ties to Countrywide for himself, colleagues, and staff

When Darrell Issa took over the chair of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee after the Republican landslide in the 2010 midterms, most people assumed that his rhetoric about restoring the proper role of oversight was nothing but a philosophic cover for attacking Barack Obama and his administration.  A new report this week shows that Issa’s job was a lot broader and a lot tougher than people imagined.  His predecessor, the now-retiring Edolphus Towns (D-NY),covered up his own ties to Countrywide Mortgage and those of his colleagues and their aides in Congress while supposedly investigating how the defunct lender escaped scrutiny for so many years of negligent and fraudulent operation:

A Democratic committee chairman overrode his own subpoena three years ago in an investigation of former subprime mortgage lender Countrywide Financial Corp. to exclude records showing that he, other House members and congressional aides got VIP discounted loans from the company, documents show.

The procedure to keep the names secret was devised by Rep. Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y. In 2003, the 15-term congressman had two loans processed by Countrywide’s VIP section, which was established to give discounts to favored borrowers.

CORRUPTION RISK REPORT: FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE

Nonpartisan, nonprofit government watchdog group Integrity Florida published Corruption Risk Report: Financial Disclosure on July 30, 2012.

Key Findings:

• 11 legislators worked for lobbying firms during the 2012 session.
• 12 legislators disclosed a total of 33 potential voting conflicts in 2012.
• More than $100,000 in gifts reported by legislators and top state officials in 2012.
• 4,284 current Florida public officials and employees failed to disclose 2012 financial interests as of July 26, 2012.
• 66 current and former Florida officials and employees owe a total of $87,199.03 in fines for late filing of financial interests in past years as of July 9, 2012.

Key Integrity Florida Recommendation: Florida should adopt the more detailed financial disclosure form used by Louisiana.

The clearest way to see where Florida needs to go to improve financial disclosure is to compare the 2011 financial disclosures of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Florida Gov.Rick Scott.  According to the Center for Public Integrity (CPI), Florida earned a D grade, ranking 26th in the U.S. for financial disclosure in 2009.  Louisiana ranked No. 1 on CPI’s disclosure ranking, up from 44^th in 2006.  Jindal worked with his state legislature in 2008 to pass new ethics laws that moved their state from the bottom to the top of the list.Louisiana Economic Development, that state’s counterpart to Enterprise Florida and theFlorida Department of Economic Opportunity, touts ethics reform on its website. Jindalsaid he set out to "completely transform the ethics laws in (his) state to encourage increased business investment and job creation".  According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Louisiana has maintained a lower unemployment rate than Florida every month from January 2008 through June 2012.

Key Integrity Florida Recommendation: The public should have access to an online, searchable database of state officials' financial disclosure information, potential voting conflicts and gifts received.

According to the Center for Public Integrity, 27 states put financial disclosure filings of state officials online, but Florida does not.  Integrity Florida has posted more than 600 documents online, including the personal financial disclosure filings from 2011, 2010 and the first term in office for Florida’s legislators and top state officials towww.integrityflorida.org.

Christians, Silence Is Not An Option #tcot

With the exception of one column previously penned, I pray this becomes my most widely read to date.

The secular left has mastered use of the Internet to further its extremist goals. In fact, President Obama’s web-based “Organizing for America” propaganda machine may have given him the 2008 election.
Let’s beat them at their own game.
To that end, I have a strange request. I’m asking each God-fearing, freedom-loving American who reads this column to forward it, post it, tweet it, print it out and give it to every pastor, priest or cleric you know. If you don’t know any, give it to someone who does.
Why? I agree with Barack Obama that November 2012 represents the most important election of our lifetimes – perhaps our history. Of course, that’s where my agreement with Mr. Obama both begins and abruptly ends.
Here’s the operable question: Do we want America “fundamentally transformed” to mirror the secular-socialist ideals of the radical leftist currently “occupying” the White House?
In Barack Obama’s America, individual freedom is trampled beneath jackboots as a matter of course. It’s already happening at an unprecedented rate.
One need only look to the HHS mandate forcing Christian groups – both Catholic and Protestant – to violate, under penalty of law, biblical prohibitions against abortion homicide.
Or consider recent attempts by multiple elected officials, all Democrats, to shutdown Chick-fil-A – a private, Christian-owned business – simply because its leadership holds the biblical view of marriage.
Is this George Washington’s America, or Joseph Stalin’s Russia?
It’s definitely not your father’s USA.
Instead, wouldn’t we prefer the America envisioned by our Founding Fathers? A constitutional republic wherein individual liberty – whether economic, First Amendment or Second Amendment-related – is sacrosanct and off limits?
Pastors, you’re it. You’re our front line of defense. It’s up to you to rally the troops. Now begins the second American Revolution and, as with the first, it’s on you – men of the cloth – to take the lead.
That is, if you hope to remain free to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Steve Lonegan runs the New Jersey chapter of Americans for Prosperity and is a former three-term mayor of Bogota.

During Mayor Lonegan’s time in office, Bogota’s municipal spending remained constant for all 12 years. Lonegan stood up to powerful public sector unions while keeping debt and tax increases far below inflation, despite massive state mandates and aid reductions. Lonegan set the model for how conservative mayors across the country should govern.

In addition, Lonegan ran for Governor twice and was defeated in 2009 by current Gov. Chris Christie.

Matt Naugle: I first learned of you when you were Mayor of Bogota, New Jersey from the hilarious political documentary Anytown, USA. Did you like how you were portrayed in the movie and should people watch it on Netflix?

Steve Lonegan: This film gets a big “thumbs up!”

The moviemakers apparently intended to portray me as some kind of villain who was supposed to lose. Instead I won a massive victory as a conservative Republican in a town that several years later gave Barack Obama 64% of the vote. It shows that the way to win is to stand up for what you believe, not change your views based on what some pollster or political consultant says.

It should be required viewing for the Republican Party leadership.
