Demand Full Transparency
The County has not provided public notice of this bid, nor did they put the discussion for the bid on the agenda. They brought it up during commission comments and unanimously voted to approve issuing the RFB. The County also conveniently omitted how the station would be paid for, and Brightline publicly stated they would not put any capital into the station. Once again, the County is steamrolling this approval without public input. The bid award is scheduled for 11/12/2024. Our community needs us. We don't have the voice of organizations like the Chamber, DBA, or Realtors Association—it's just us, the residents. On Tuesday, November 12, let's come together at the Board of County Commissioners meeting to demand transparency and accountability. Decisions on projects like Brightline, cell towers, comp plan, and the proposed Wawa are being made without full transparency or public input, and this is our last chance to speak before new commissioners take office. Save our Salerno and Stop Messin' with Jensen are citizen groups formed because citizens do not believe their voices are being heard. Please wear black or blue and sit in the audience, even if you don't want to speak. You can talk about any topic you are concerned about; you will have 3 minutes. Let's politely show our support for responsible decision-making that reflects our community's needs. Bring a friend, and together, we can make a difference. Board of County Commission Admin Building
