For weeks, Florida's liberal media has been circling the wagons around Florida Supreme Court Justices Fred Lewis, Peggy Quince and Barbara Pariente in a blatantly partisan attempt to explain away the jurists’ apparent violation of Florida election law.
The three justices are due to face a merit retention vote on the November ballot. A little less than two hours before the deadline, on the last day of filing, the justices were notified that they had failed to fill out or file their qualifying oath and financial disclosure forms. In the ensuing scramble, the justices put state employees to work to help get the paperwork done on time.
