Auto-Pilot Toward the Fiscal Cliff #tcot

Auto-Pilot Toward the Fiscal Cliff

Dec. 21, 2012 - With the failure of “Plan B” in the House last night, it appears very likely that the “fiscal cliff” is going to arrive. Of course, the mainstream media is blaming Tea Party-minded (read: principled) Congressmen for not supporting the plan.

This is outrageous, and an insult to the American people. Yes, principled Members of Congress held the line on tax hikes. Yes, Speaker Boehner has been awful in negotiating an alternative to the “fiscal cliff." But in the end, blame lies almost exclusively on the backs of two people: President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (R-NV).

Consider that even before details of “Plan B” had been released, President Obama and Senator Reid had already declared the legislation dead. The Senate departed Washington until after Christmas, and President Obama went on vacation, leaving the nation on auto-pilot as we speed toward the fiscal cliff. Apparently, kicking the proverbial can down the road is more important than actually doing the jobs for which both men were elected. Apparently, the ideology of raising taxes is more important than actually solving the spending problem that Washington has.

Because of their lack of leadership, America is likely to go over the fiscal cliff. Yet looking at the facts, it’s clear that raising taxes and not cutting spending really is the problem:

  1. A major study has found that the combination of expiring tax cuts and the implementation of ObamaCare will cost the country 710,000 jobs.
  2. Imposing a 100% tax on all households earning more than $250,000 – the “wealthy,” according to the President and Senator Reid – would keep Washington running for only 190 days according to Walter E. Williams.
  3. The government currently spends about of $30.60 per hour on welfare compared to the median income of $25.03 per American worker according to a study by Congressional Research Service.
  4. Cutting taxes in a time of economic stagnation would help boost the economy, boost employment, and increase revenue to the federal government to reduce the deficit.
  5. Many in the media and Washington will try to accuse the Tea Party of causing the dive over the “fiscal cliff.” Yet, we have outlined over the last 12 days, 12 solutions that would be a positive step in the right direction. It is time for Washington to stop avoiding their responsibilities, as they seem to have done here by leaving the country speeding on auto-pilot toward the fiscal cliff.

AEI: Turkey’s useful idiots #tcot

AEIlogo
by Michael Rubin | posted Nov. 20, 2012
It doesn’t take much for Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to show his true colors. He’s been known as a man of strong opinions since his tenure as mayor of Istanbul. He has dragged a journalist to court for the crime of depicting him in a cartoon as a cat entangled in a ball of string. More Turkish journalists now sit in prison than their Chinese and Iranian counterparts. It is no wonder that Turkey now ranks below even Russia in press freedom.
Turkey’s attempts to quash speech no longer stop at its borders. When I referred to reports of corruption received by US diplomats—reports that Wikileaks subsequently affirmed—Egemen Bağış, a close Erdoğan ally, with the help of Turkey’s embassy in Washington, sued me (to no avail). Turkey has also become the leading proponent of UN legislation to ban criticism of radical Islam.
Nothing sets Erdoğan off, though, like Israel. Erdoğan has claimed Hamas rockets are an Israeli hoax (the Jews, after all, control the media in Erdoğan’s world). In the last few days he has lambasted Israel as a terrorist state, and accused it of ethnically cleansing Gaza, never mind that it withdrew from the Strip in 2005. This is the same man, however, who has denied that there had been any genocide in Darfur, a region in which the Sudanese government had killed hundreds of thousands of people because in Erdoğan’s mind, Muslim leaders don’t kill Muslims (unless, perhaps, they’re Kurds). As for the Turkish view of Hamas, all one needs to do is watch the reception Turkey’s parliamentary majority gave the terrorist leader when he visited Ankara.

The Battle To Save Drakes Bay Oyster Farm - Kevin Lunny speaks out #tcot

Defend Rural America

This is the story of Drakes Bay Oyster Farm, located on the Pacific coast just north of San Francisco, and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar's decision to destroy jobs, destroy 40% of California's oyster production, exterminate millions of oysters, terminate a beloved business that has been in operation since 1934, and make families that work there both jobless and homeless.

NWV: REGIONALISM: THE BLUEPRINT FOR YOUR SERFDOM #tcot

ShawBy Michael Shaw

Gone are the days when government was limited, where individuals were politically acknowledged to possess unalienable rights, and where money was honest. The American political structure has been transformed. This has occurred quietly for more than 50 years without public awareness of the mechanisms underlying the change.
At the core of this transformation is the political process of “regionalizing” the country. Political regionalism is the antithesis of representative government. Regionalism restructures or reinvents the operation of American government by destroying traditional political boundaries, such as county lines, and ushers in a transformed system of governance that ultimately abolishes private property and the rights of the individual. Regionalism has infiltrated cities and counties everywhere, affecting transportation, water, farming and land use systems… literally every aspect of your life.
Let’s start with an example showing how Agenda 21 programs are brought into your town via “Regionalism.”
Here is an excerpt from the United Nations’ Agenda 21 document concerning transportation planning:
A21

Towns across the country are adopting these transport systems. This is because these systems are imposed upon locales by a regional level of government largely unknown and underestimated.

The large scale version of the U.S. adoption of modern regionalism is a federally imposed extra-constitutional layer of government covering the entire nation.

According to the website of the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC), NARC “serves as the national voice of regionalism through effective interaction and advocacy with Congress, Federal officials and other agencies and interest groups.” NARC’s agenda includes but is not limited to: transportation, community and economic development, environment, homeland security, “regional preparedness,” and community issues…

In addition to NARC, citizens must know about the following regional planning and development agencies that work to implement NARC’s goals:

• Council of Governments (COG)
• Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)

The way past Obama is dismantling the United Nations #tcot

The way past Obama is dismantling the United Nations

Defund and defang the all-powerful, omnipotent United Nations

Monday, December 10, 2012

McLeod

 - Judi McLeod & Doug Hagmann

The way to free America from the destructive administration of President Barack Hussein Obama is out there.

Four more years of Obama has left America in a massive depression with We the People feeling there is nothing left but to give up.

But giving up is never the answer when the way to free America, and in fact citizens of the world from Obama,  is to petition Canada—the nation that started it all—to dismantle the United Nations. Dismantling the United Nations is an end-around, out-of-the-box type of tactic that we have yet see anyone consider, yet could well be an effective method of neutering threats on multiple levels.

UNswitchThe ongoing plan to fundamentally transform America did not originate with Obama, who is merely the latest Agent of Change working to complete a UN agenda to implement One World Order (OWO).

The lights went out in America on November 6, but the darkness is also descending on the Free West.

The United Nations houses, down to the last one, all the advocates of One World Order and currently has a grip on civil society through its insidious Agenda 21.  The UN’s mission for OWO was stalled until their ‘Agent for Change’ was elected as US president in 2008.  The UN’s mission could not proceed with a strong and economically viable US as world leader and superpower.

The way back into the light rests in the dismantling of the UN.

WND: The GOP's not-so-secret weapon on fiscal cliff

'We are facing 4 years of unpleasantness for Obama'
cameraWASHINGTON – The only way to prevent the Obama administration from blaming Republicans in the fiscal cliff debate is to demand transparency by bringing in television cameras, says noted tax activist Grover Norquist.

What advice would Norquist give House Speaker John Boehner?

“Bring in C-SPAN and televise the negotiations,” Norquist, president and founder of Americans for Tax Reform told WND in an exclusive interview. “It’s the best way to expose the White House plan to build public pressure on Republicans to force House Speaker John Boehner to cave into at the eleventh hour to raise income-tax rates on the wealthiest Americans.

Freedomworks: BLOCK THE EXCHANGE #tcot

Join the Obamacare Exchange Fight

Around the country numerous states are taking a stand against ObamaCare. With enough support, their efforts could derail the costly, unconstitutional government takeover of healthcare and force Congress to reexamine the law.

FreedomWorks has taken the lead in this fight by launching our website blockexchanges.com where activists can contact their top state officials and urge them to say no to an ObamaCare exchange.

CLICK HERE TO SEE IF YOUR STATE HAS MADE A DECISION ON IMPLEMENTING AN OBAMACARE EXCHANGE.

To learn more on how ObamaCare can still be stopped, be sure to read FreedomWorks’ Legislative Council Dean Clancy’s latest article in the Daily Caller. Click here to read “States Still Have the Power to Reject Obamacare.”

GOODBYE PROPERTY RIGHTS #tcot

GOODBYE PROPERTY RIGHTS

By Michael S. CoffmanCoffman
December 5, 2012
NewsWithViews.com

Since the early 1970s there has been a systematic and deliberate effort to destroy private property rights in America through the warm and fuzzy goal of sustainable development.

David Rockefeller co-founded the Club of Rome in 1968 as an elite, somewhat occult think tank. The Club of Rome published Limits to Growth in 1972, which called for severe limits on human population and state control of all development in the world to achieve “sustainable development.” Sustainable development was eventually formalized into a United Nations global action plan called Agenda 21, which President Bush committed the U.S. to at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. President Clinton put into action by the creation of Sustainable America in 1996. If fully implemented, private property rights will be a thing of the past.

States Should Flatly Reject ObamaCare Exchanges

States Should Flatly Reject ObamaCare Exchanges

Once Again They Refuse to Listen #NoStateXchng

ONCE AGAIN THEY REFUSE TO LISTEN

The Florida Legislature is preparing to implement a State Healthcare Exchange required by ObamaCare instead of standing on principle to reclaim their sovereign rights in this disgraceful power grab.

Just because the U.S. Supreme Court has decided that the "plan" is a constitutionally permitted "tax," it does not mean that it must be accepted in its present form (or at all). The question of its violation of the Congress' Constitutional authority has not yet been ruled, because the issue was not "ripe," and that challenge must come from the states. State governments must act to protect their citizens in the same manner as was done against the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798. At that time, the legislatures of Virginia and Kentucky declared these acts null and void against their citizens and asserted their states' obligation to protect their own citizens (even against the federal government).  In the face of today's federal overreach, twenty-one states have already expressed opposition to these exchanges.

The Florida Senate Select Committee on PACA (Patient Affordable Care Act) is having their first meeting on Monday, December 3rd at 3:00 pm. The members must know from today on that we expect them to say NO to any implementation of state exchanges for Obamacare.

In that effort, Florida opposition groups are hosting the tools you can use to let these people know that they are being watched very carefully. We are asking that each of you link to the following websites to initiate a letter of opposition to the legislators who are involved in this question and to our Governor, who is remaining undecided.

  • It is IMPERATIVE that every member of this committee be called and emailed between now and Monday afternoon.
  • They must be told to just say "NO" to implementing State-run PACA exchanges.
  • 21 other States will NOT be creating exchanges. FLORIDA must join those States in non-compliance.

Florida Tenth Amendment Center

Further, the complete NULLIFICATION of the Patient Affordability Care Act must be enacted in Florida to rid us of this curse once and for all. See our model legislation at http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/legislation/federal-health-care-nullification-act/.

Activist KrisAnne Hall, in recent confernce calls, referenced her articles on Nullification which are on her website along with a sample letter to be used for sending to our legislators and Governor.

The Liberty GroupThe Liberty Group, a national patriot site, also posted an opposition page.

The Tenth Amendment Center has a petition and a resolution on their website.

Americans for Prosperity has an Action Alert on their website.

KrisAnne Hall recommended that we all send letters from our own perspectives - focusing on the constitutional and economic issues.  She is scheduled to speak before the committee on Monday but may only be given 2 minutes. They are trying to find out if other people can sign up to speak and then reserve their time for KrisAnne.

She suggested that we do an “e-rally” beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2nd and run through 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3rd.  During this time we should bombard our Florida legislators and the Governor with emails, phone calls, faxes, and tweets.

Anyone who can, should go to Tallahassee on Monday.  Please plan on visiting the committee members' offices prior to their hearing.  We need to make it clear that if they do go ahead and set up the health exchanges, there will be consequences to their actions. We need to let them know that we will not support them if they implement the exchanges. We also need to resolve ourselves to the fact that we will not comply with the law if it goes into effect.  She asked that we pass this information on to our members or anyone else we know who can help with this endeavor.

The federal government has been given $1 billion to establish exchanges and that money is ALREADY gone.  If we refuse to establish the exchanges, the federal government is not prepared and cannot establish the exchanges on their own.

This could be a fatal blow to the healthcare act as the federal government will have to ask Congress for more money to establish the exchanges and we can pressure them not to grant it.

On their website (AFP) is an Action alert where you can email Governor Scott, Senator Gaetz, and Rep. Weatherford.

(editor's note: Sen. Gaetz has already replied to this writer that, in his opinion, the Act was ruled "constitutional" and they are "obligated" to comply. WE DISAGREE.)

StopTheFloridaExchangesOn Facebook, you can participate at http://www.facebook.com/StopTheFloridaExchanges.

For those who use TWITTER, use the hashtag, #NoStateXchng.

Remember, the more contacts you make, the more likely they are to realize that they are selling out their fellow citizens with this state exchange.

Tell your state representatives and senators:

  • The Federal government cannot force states to implement the exchanges (they currently have no ability to operate or to fund exchanges if the states don’t implement).  States will not have flexibility if they set up their own exchanges. Everything will have to be approved by the Federal government.
  • If the state sets up an exchange it is going to result in taxes on businesses ($3,000 per employee),  this happens only if a state sets up an exchange.
  • It will result in higher costs per family, either in premium costs or penalties.

We have already had an Exchange in Florida. Back in the 90's, called "Community Health Purchasing Alliances" (CHPA). They NEVER operated in the black - we, the taxpayers had to make up the difference every year. Sen Bill Nelson called them his biggest nightmare. Why would we want to go back to that (remember definition of insanity)?

Taxes are built into the bill that are linked directly to the premium costs, and will rise with a snowballing effect.  When the taxes rise, the premiums will rise.  As the premiums rise the taxes will rise. Nightmare.

68% of Florida residents would be eligible for the tax credits to help pay the premiums. Medicaid rolls would greatly expand. The federal government will send money for the first three years, after that Florida will have to fund a portion of it. Do you think Florida's share will be assessed favorably?

We will not finish this battle on Monday.  This will be an ongoing fight for many months. We will need your SUSTAINED support.  We intend to keep up with the contact after Monday, as a slow stream of constant reminders that WE WILL NOT COMPLY!
